There is NO "Hidden or Undocumented" Advanced Tag Editor for Windows 7's Media Player 12

I received an email asking if I knew about the "Hidden" Advanced Tag Editor for Windows Media Player 12? written about at Wikipedia.

Knowing the history of the removal of Advanced Tag Editor from Windows 7's Windows Media Player 12 - this didn't sound correct . . but how could Wikipedia be wrong? (^_^)

Sure enough, Wikipedia mentions a "Hotfix installs Advanced Tag Editor in Windows Media Player 12, although this fact is undocumented and the hotfix has other functions too."

Unfortunately, Microsoft Knowledge Base Article KB978529 does NOT reveal a "Hidden" Advanced Tag Editor - it simply resolves a problem when transcoding some music files!

Wikipedia's reference is a Microsoft TechNet Forum's really long thread that at one point appears to endorce this solution - but many lines later, debunks the idea there's a "Hidden" Advanced Tag Editor.

BOTTOM LINE:

    • There is NO "Hidden" Advanced Tag Editor for Windows 7's Window Media 12

    • Don't believe everything you read on Wikipedia! (^_^)
