As part of Facebook's new messaging system, Microsoft's Office Web Apps will enable people to view Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents attached to their Facebook messages.
The integration allows people to view Office documents within the Facebook website, Microsoft said. Microsoft has already integrated Office Web Apps and Facebook with Docs.com, which allows for document editing and sharing within Facebook.
This morning, Facebook announced a revamped messaging service that integrates e-mail, including the availability of @facebook.com e-mail addresses to all of its users. More information is here. (The AP will continue to update that article -- the news conference just ended.)
Also, here's more information on The Big Blog, from Facebook and from Microsoft.
