Last week Microsoft Advertising launched a new service for advertisers to use aimed at making adverts more engaging by adding rich media to them. Microsoft have currently teamed up with Sprint in the US to provide the adds which can be seen on MSN, FOX Sports and CNBC but only on the iPhone and iPod Touch.
Microsoft tout some of the main features of this new advertising platform as allowing advertiser to use:
- In-unit video
- Click-to-Map
- Click-to-Call
- Click-to-Expand
Microsoft are also keen to point out that the ads can currently be targeted at specific devices or carriers and will soon allow for demographics and geo targeting.
Its good to see Microsoft remaining somewhat competitive in the mobile advertising market will be interesting to see how this stands up against the competition.
