iPad App Store Features 20% Free Apps Only

Mobclix, a Mobile ad exchange prepared a data on iPad apps to figure out various statistics. According to the study, apart from the iPhone apps for iPad, the App Store is featuring around 3,122 apps that are solely developed for the iPad only, keeping the screen resolution and various functionality in mind. Out of those 3,122 apps, 2,523 apps (80%) are paid apps and 599 apps (20%) are free.

Application developers are now strictly want to monetize their efforts and hence the number of free iPad apps are decreasing. Being a popular app segment, 942 gaming apps are there and 804 of them are paid apps while 138 are free. On the other hand most of the book apps are paid apps and averages $4.99.

If you feel the price higher than the worth of the app, wait for sometime as the prices of these apps should go down eventually, like iPhone apps. [via]
