Yesterday at ReMIX in France Microsoft were touting some high expectations for Windows Phone 7 that MobileTechWorld picked up on; they expect to sell 30 million devices by the end of 2011! That is a large number considering, as MobileTechWorld points out, in 2008 only 18 million Windows Mobile devices were shipped followed by less in 2009.
rom reading the slide Microsoft are expecting to sell 1.6 million devices in France alone, it would be interesting to know how many they expect to sell in other major countries around the world.
They have indeed set their sights high and I hope Windows Phone 7 will be as popular as they expect, its certainly going to an interesting 18 months for Microsoft and the mobile industry and I am really looking forward to following it.
