Facebook plans to open office in Hyderabad, assisting Indian users

Mark wants to make new business relations in India. Facebook, the number one social networking site that have over 450 million users worldwide is now planning to open a office in Hyderabad.

The Indian announcement follows its plan to invest in Austin, Texas, announced last week. The new centre will planned to assist services to the 40 Million Indian Facebook users and advertisers by providing better round-the-clock and multi-lingual support.

Hiring for the Hyderabad operations has already commenced with Don Faul, director, global online operations, Facebook, landing in India yesterday.

The hunt is on for the India head who would set up a team and work with advertisers and partners in India as well as provide support to those in North America and Western Europe regions, Faul told The Economic Times. It is also looking for IT security heads, online sales managers and local language specialists.
