Bing Now Auto-Suggesting Your History (US Only)

Bing have added a new feature today which now incorporates a users’ history in the search box, a feature I am surprised hasn’t been implemented before and I’m sure will be very useful to many users (even more when it rolls out internationally). You can see in the image below the search that is being stored in the Search History by its purple colour.

The announcement highlights the privacy controls users’ will have over this feature, turning it completely off or just deleting individual queries and goes on to share an interesting fact that show a large number of searches spanning more than just a single day.

In fact, 44% of non-navigational search sessions last longer than 1 week!  Perhaps you need to research the purchase of a new automobile.  You might use Bing to find a retail location and to further research online – over many days – to make the best decisions on your big ticket purchase.

I know I have often done searches for the same thing over several sessions or days and it’ll be much easier to access the search now. I look forward to this in the UK.
